Son of Northern Colorado Hippies, Sean Waters earned masters degrees in both philosophy and English while performing over a thousand shows with the folk-rock duo the Seers. In early 2019, Waters caught his first real break after his demos intrigued L.A.-based producer Justin Andres, the live music director for Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famer Eric Burdon and the Animals. Waters flew to Los Angeles to craft a set of lushly layered singles straddling Colorado alternative rock and California indie pop. Recognized in regional press as a "skillful, entertaining, and soulful performer," (the Coloradoan), Sean Waters keeps making "ruminative Colorado Americana" (Indie is not a Genre) with a process of inspiration and collaboration he has dubbed the Sunrise Genius. "Life is music, and love is the only language," he says, seeing the possibilities for rebirth in every moment and every person he meets. His tenth single, "Cathedral Pines" is out February 23rd, 2024.
