The ‘Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award’ (iDEA) was initially created in 2014 as a joint initiative between The Duke of York and Nominet Trust to inspire young people to follow their passion, equip them with digital skills to put that passion into practice, and make them more employable. The programme also addresses employer demand to bridge the digital skills gap for 745K additional workers in the next three years.
The key aim of iDEA is to improve the digital and enterprise skills of young people in the United Kingdom. To achieve this, iDEA has developed a platform designed to promote digital enterprise and digital skills education through an online library of industry endorsed skills badges, which enable young people to gain specific digital and enterprise skills that are accredited by iDEA and recognised by the industry.
iDEA was incorporated as a ‘Community Interest Company’ on 30th April, 2015.
