Advancing Earth science using ocean drilling | Account managed by the U.S. Scientific Ocean Drilling Coordination Office (SODCO) This channel was formerly known as The JOIDES Resolution (@theJOIDESResolution) after the research vessel that collected samples and measurements from under the ocean floor from 1985 to 2024. With the retirement of the ship, we have changed the name of the account to represent the full scope of the activities of the U.S. scientific ocean drilling community. This channel will continue to house content that was created about and on the JOIDES Resolution during its tenure as the U.S. scientific ocean drilling research vessel – as well as new content about scientific ocean drilling.
