Andrew Cooper is currently a student of Dr. Nancy Ambrose King at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Oboe Performance. Andrew studied with Kirsten Lipkens for seven years, through the end of high school. His first lessons were with Catalina Arubla. Andrew played in the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestras for eight seasons, and won the 2011 Concerto Competition with his sister Rebecca. Andrew also performed with the Youth Repertory Orchestra and the Youth Symphony of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. Andrew graduated from Northampton High School in 2013 and was a member of the NHS Band. He was regularly selected for Western Mass. District Orchestra and Band as well as for the 2012 Massachusetts All State Band in Boston. Andrew has performed with his various youth orchestras and bands throughout Massachusetts, and has played in concerts in multiple US cities, in Canada, and in Europe.
