The Magics formed in 1958 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. They recorded under various names including “Dick & The Halos,” “The Precisions,” “The Palisades,” and “Mike Lanzo & The Blue Counts.” They scored a #3 hit in Northeastern Pennsylvania with their recording of “Chapel Bells.” The Magics also did background for Tommy Genova, Jo Jo Vitale, Jack Bailey, Tex Amato, Lewis Lymon, Ray Peterson, and The Gales. The group reunited in 1991 and continued to perform through 2018.
