Leeds-based trio, The Varletts, pride themselves on an ethos of unapologetic alt-rock, that encapsulates the energy of their live shows. They see their status as a three-piece as at the heart of their raw and recognisable sound.
They quickly became regulars on the Nottingham scene after their conception in late-2016, self-releasing their debut singles ‘City of Sin’ and ‘Spiral Staircase’ and receiving praise from local BBC Introducing and their peers in Nottingham.
In 2017, they then moved to Leeds, where they now reside. They quickly felt at home in the city, with a warm reception throughout the year at various venues. Though they have been quieter this summer (if they can ever be called quiet), the band has been hidden away writing a wealth of new material with a different sound, different image and motivated by a different city.
