I'm the kind of person: who folds the corner of pages to mark my favorite passages in books. who collects postcards and tapes them on my wall. who never puts the camera back in its case because I'm afraid I'll miss a picture, who agrees with the line in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rebecca" when Rebecca says she wishes she could bottle up her memories like perfume, who loves shopping in antique stores, who likes mannerisms almost more than words. That's why I write songs. Because I believe in those fleeting little moments that elude any attempt at description; because the less I can capture something, the more I want to try. Writing music and filming videos is my vain attempt at capturing the magic.
