DJ DB MIXTAPE ARCHIVE A deep archive of non genre specific tapes from London to NY. Starting in 1985, the early cassettes were made in London for friends and for his own listening enjoyment & then to promote himself, given to promotors he wanted to work with. In the 90’s, established as a fixture in the NY rave & club scene, DB's fans would buy the tapes from Raymond’s east coast Bassrush raves, or shops like Liquid Sky, House and his own, Breakbeat Science. ABOUT DB Author DB Burkeman fell in love with art & music via skateboarding and punk rock, but he made a name for himself DJing first in London then NY. He threw some of the first UK style rave warehouse parties in NY City and in the early 90s he launched the infamous club night NASA. Although his career has been DJing & doing A&R, his passion has always been art. Having now written and produced 5 books on art and various aspects Pop & counter-culture DB is launching his own publishing company, Blurring Books.
