Founded by Frédéric L’Épée in 2002 (previously founder of the bands Shylock in the 70's and Philharmonie in the 90's), Yang is an instrumental quartet which compositions melt guitar counterpoints, odd time signatures, Contemporary Music with a hint of oriental modes all together with a powerful rock pulse. Often compared to King Crimson, their music is often classified as Math Rock, Heavy Prog or Art Rock and is of course more complex than basic rock, but it always sounds natural. Complexity has never been a goal. Since its creation, Yang released five albums, A Complex Nature in 2004, Machines in 2010 The Failure of Words in 2017, Designed for Disaster in 2022 and Rejoice! in 2024. The rarity of their releases is mainly due to the fact that they leave far from each other, from the south of France to Germany. Their last album "Rejoice!" has been released in July 2024 on Cuneiform Records.
