The CMU Portugal Program, funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology), is a partnership between the Portuguese government and the Carnegie Mellon University.
This international collaboration covers more than 300 Professional Master's students and Dual Degree Doctorate students, comprises about 50 research projects, selected by competitive means, and has more than 120 partner companies. This program propelled the creation of the Interactive Technologies Institute of Madeira (M-ITI) and 11 start-ups: Dognaedis, Feedzai, Geolink, Mambu, Orange Bird, Prsma, RedLight Software, Sentilant, Streambolico, Veniam, and Virtual Traffic Lights.
The CMU Portugal Program’s mission is to put the country at the forefront of innovation in focused areas of information and communication technologies, through cutting-edge research, excellence in postgraduate training, and a close link with the Portuguese industry.
