I’m Lars Sorensen, an 18-year-old drummer from Long Beach, NY, born with rhythm in my blood and a love for the stage. I started drumming at three, took my first lesson at four, and haven’t stopped chasing the beat since. I trained for seven years at the Long Island Drum Center with Jerry Ricci, worked alongside legends like Duke Gadd and Liberty DeVitto, and have jammed and performed with Bakithi Kumalo, Paul Simon’s legendary bassist, as well as Darryl McDaniels from Run-D.M.C. I’m a LIHSA alum and now a business student at Five Towns College, blending creativity with ambition. You can find me performing with local bands like Lonely Birds and Shattered, running my own Long Beach concert series, or going live with high-energy drum covers. When I’m not behind the kit, I’m surfing, selling vinyl records, or volunteering with Surf for All. Drumming isn’t just what I do — it’s who I am.
