AHM is a non-profit charity that supports the health and well-being of children, youth & families for themselves, and for the greater good of the communities. AHM was founded in 1983 through a grassroots effort of a small group of local residents whose vision was to incorporate and create a regional family-focused agency based upon the Youth Services Bureau model found in communities across Connecticut. Over the years, the regional non-profit Youth Services Bureau has served thousands of children and families. AHM is one of over a hundred Youth Service Bureaus (YSBs) statewide. AHM is the parent organization of both a Youth Services Bureau and a Family Resource Center. The agency's comprehensive family-focused service delivery system includes the provision of juvenile justice, prevention, mental health, and positive youth development programs for local children, teens, and adults.
