After nearly 30 years in Silicon Valley tech, I was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at 57. The career, the memory, the future, it all changed overnight. But music never left me. Piano as a child, self-taught saxophone in my 20s, failed guitar attempts in my 30s - music was always there, waiting. Last year the songwriter inside me finally woke up. I had to start telling the stories of my life before I forgot them. I write the lyrics, the emotion, the structure, the vision. I use Suno as my co-pilot and turns my words into sound when my brain can’t sit at a keyboard for weeks or find musicians who haven’t disappeared (Alzheimer’s apparently scares people away). The result is Saying Goodbye, a growing collection of songs born from heartbreak, hope, memory loss, and defiance.
