This Service Road is dedicated to my favorite poet, Robert Service. His rough and tumble verse and prose has made him a staple around campfires and on outdoor adventures. Is ballads, though longer in nature, are easy recitals. Most of his work is lyrical, and if talented enough, one could easily transform his work to song.
Robert Service life reads as his poems, full of adventure, twist and turns. His life journey includes bank clerk, hobo,ranc-hand, people's poet, novelist, adventurer,Red Cross ambulance driver, bohemian author, songwriter, refugee, screenwriter, actor, health advocate and prolific codger.
Let us journey to a lonely land I know.
There's a whisper on the night-wind,
there's a star agleam to guide us,
And the Wild is calling,
calling. . .let us go.
