Sewing, especially quilting, is my world. It is part of who I am and I can’t imagine a time without sewing. As well as bringing me joy, calm and satisfaction, I know the finished handmade item will also bring pleasure, enjoyment and comfort, it’s win win. I’ve been sewing and crafting from a young age. My mum shared her love of being creative with me and it hasn’t ever left me. I have the confidence now to start any sewing project, going from an idea in my mind, to working out a pattern, to threading my sewing machine and finishing a project. I want to make sure everyone can sew and start a new sewing project with confidence, whether they are a complete beginner or have been sewing for years. Sewing is a great practical skill, whether you are sewing on a button, mending, making things last longer or creating something new; and you have the satisfaction of making something unique and develop skills to last you a lifetime.
