The Monterey County Composers' Forum (MCCF)
MCCF was founded in 2000 by Steve Ettinger, a local musician and full-time music professor at Hartnell College.
As a 501(c)(3) corporation, MCCF’s mission is to provide quality opportunities for local composers from a variety of backgrounds to have their works presented in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.
MCCF’s Board of Directors strives to create a nurturing and positive environment that fosters all musical styles with equanimity. As a result, the membership includes a wide range of composers and genres, from singer-songwriters, to art songs for piano and soloist, to jazz or Bossa Nova pieces on guitar, to two- and four-hand piano pieces, to string quartets, to poignant flute and cello duets. The organization has even offered an occasional experimental piece such as one written for the digeridoo!
