Data Innovation Lab, established in 2023, is a leading global initiative of the German Federal Foreign Office and is administrated by GovTech Deutschland e.V. It operates at the intersection of foreign and security policy and technology. The Data Innovation Lab’s mission is to advance tech-informed foreign policy by testing and refining innovative policy and creative data and AI solutions. It strengthens data and AI literacy for foreign policy professionals worldwide and drives tech diplomacy as a structured approach to navigate the geopolitical implications of technologies by building coalitions, and enabling informed diplomatic approaches to emerging technologies. © 2026 Data Innovation Lab
