Al-Khair Foundation (AKF) is a UK based international NGO established in 2003 that provides aid, disaster relief and humanitarian support to those in the world’s most deprived areas. Our pioneering programmes across the world have made us one of the leading Muslim charities in the UK. Our projects and programmes span across 20 countries; including the United Kingdom. Although our primary aim is to save lives and provide aid and shelter to the needy, we advocate the importance of empowerment by providing practical solutions to root out poverty through our livelihood and long-term development programmes. We strongly believe that it’s important to address the challenging issues that are prevalent in our society as well. That’s why in the UK, we provide education through our three schools, and offer projects that tackle unemployment, domestic violence and women’s empowerment.
