WaterMarks: An Atlas of Water for the City of Milwaukee is an arts-based initiative to develop an inclusive and urban-scaled vision for the city of Milwaukee, to help people better understand their relationships to the water systems and infrastructure that supports their lives. We see artists as leaders who can inspire greater community understanding in the journey toward sustainable living. WaterMarks commissions artists to prepare concepts for new creative projects to help make complex environmental issues tangible to Milwaukee residents. The goal is to engage residents throughout Milwaukee’s many neighborhoods and invite interested individuals to support the seven principles of our Water Centric City — through the arts.
