Inspired by the tales of customary and legendary traditational hookah of Manipur generally used by the Meiteis locally called as the "Hidak-Phu" ; We seek to unravel the pivotal role played by the "Meiru" (the cornerstone - a fundamental component part of the Hidak-Phu which planks up the crushed marijuana and faces the instant heat of the weed when burnt allowing the smokers to inhale the fumes and enjoy) without which the Hidak-Phu will never work yet fading into oblivion. Hence, we try to compare the unnoticed struggles faced by the artists to that of a Meiru metaphorically. As a result, 'MEIRU' was born to exist as a fusion metal band simply to serve the audience a new taste of Music and to contribute something sensible for the Society as well as for the Music community.
