Pi Records is my ongoing love letter to modern surf/instrumental music — not the nostalgia costume version, the working version: bands writing new tunes, hauling gear, booking shows, chasing tone, and showing up for the community. The Surf Interviews playlist is the heart of it. I sit down with players from across the scene — lifers, regional heroes, new bands with fresh ideas — and we get into how the songs get written, what the ethics are (be decent, support each other), and what’s borrowed from the past vs. what’s being pushed forward now.
