Founded in 1999 at Stanford University, Digital Media Academy began as a program for K-12 educators interested in learning the latest digital media software tools from award-winning creative professionals.
Led by Stanford University educators and industry experts, the company incorporated as Digital Media Academy (DMA) in 2002 when our first summer camp was held at Stanford University offering courses in digital photography, video game design, web design, and programming. Over the last twenty years DMA has expanded its course offerings and locations globally, with over 500,000 students across 125 countries in world-class locations, including Harvard, UCLA, NYU, The University of Texas, George Washington University, and Stanford.
In addition to its summer camp programs, DMA offers the Leading STEAM Schools in the World (LSSW) membership and accreditation program launched in 2019 to help schools globally ensure their STEAM provisions are future-proofing the leaders of tomorrow.
