Eric "E-MaNN" Yang is a rap artist from Saint Paul's Eastside. As a youth, E-MaNN's passion has always been music and writing poetry. He grew up watching his older brother’s rap group Waterflowz recording and sampling beats in his parents' basement. During school, English was his favorite class and was also where he gained encouragement from his teachers and peers to continue writing. This led to taking music more seriously and forming the rap group, Ground Zero during his last year of high school. E-MaNN’s unique rap style, mindful lyrics and versatility are what set him apart from other rappers. Through rap he shares his own personal experiences, society issues and views on life. His style of rap is similar to that of rap legends like Atmosphere and Brother Ali of Rhymesayers Entertainment from Minneapolis, Minnesota; who he was also heavily influenced by throughtout his adolescent years.
