Mick Jansen is a 24-year-old guitarist based in Utrecht. His main interests lie in instrumental Jazz/Rock/Fusion music. Players like Scott Henderson, Guthrie Govan, John Scofield, and Pat Metheny are currently his primary sources of inspiration. Mick studied at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory, where he participated in various projects, but also (co-)founded some. He has already released some work with his pop-oriented band FLÖ, but recently he has also been working on his own compositions within his own trio. The “Mick Jansen Trio” is a recently formed project that focuses on groovy jazz-fusion music with blues and rock influences. Energetic rhythms, strong melodies, refreshing harmonies, and carefully crafted parts are characteristic of this repertoire. The trio is completed by bassist Tim Luyten and drummer Teun Wagter, who bring this sophisticated music to life.
