They are at once a solo act and a band, modern and ancient, serious and fun - a true musical movement embodying the contradictions of our times. With roots that go deep into the ancestral wisdoms of the African continent and the Indigenous spiritual traditions of her people, the music branches into folk, blues, pop, hip hop, r&b, motown, jazz and always circles back to continental Africa styles. The work addresses the socio-political issues of the day such as racism, colonialism, sexism, classism and environmental degradation; and then asks us to stop thinking and just dance! Just Be!
