Babel is a poetry collective based out of the North Philadelphia area. Though our primary focus is spoken word, music and lyricism, we support the progression of the arts, not only on the Temple University campus, but throughout Philly. Art is important to us because it is necessary, both for freedom of expression and survival. Throughout the semester, we hold free writing workshops and open mics for poets and active minds in the Philadelphia area. Each semester, we hold a a showcase performance accompanied by a print zine transcript of all brand new, original work.
