Eurocarers brings together carers' organisations as well as relevant research & development organisations – a unique combination that enables evidence-based advocacy. These organisations may function at the EU, national, sub-national or regional level (depending on the structures of national health and social service systems). Eurocarers works to ensure that care is valued and unpaid care is recognised as central to the sustainability of health and long term care systems. It will work to ensure that carers are recognised across Europe as a discrete group at risk of poverty, social exclusion and discrimination and to ensure that their issues and interests are being addressed and taken into account in EU and national level policy development.
