Enjoy watching Oren and Ruth, six year old Red-tailed Hawks, in their third nesting season on the Syracuse University (SU) campus.
Oren is a 2020 progeny of beloved SU hawks, SU-Sue and Otto who raised 28 chicks from 2012 through 2022 then sadly both died from avian influenza in January 2023. Oren returned to SU with his mate Ruth and they raised two chicks in 2024 in a nest in a gingko tree, then they moved to an archway on Lyman Hall where his parents previously nested and raised and two chicks in 2025. We're watching the 2026 season unfold observing the pair in the nest they refurbished on the northern archway of Lyman Hall, also previously built and used by Oren's parents. We wish them the best.
