Carla Ng (she/they) is a Hong Kong-born, now London-based director, composer, multi-instrumentalist & producer working across music, theatre & live arts.
Like a 4D tesseract botanical garden/swamp, Carla’s practice inevitably bleeds into each other. Her work is absurd, raw, honest, explosive, spectacular, rebellious, chaotic, emotional. As an hardcore advocate on always prioritizing JOY in one’s creative practice, Carla’s work always centres around people, community and the human experience, in-front and behind the curtains.
Graduated with a first-class degree in Classical Composition from the Guildhall School of Drama and Music, studying under Amber Priestley and Matthew King. She is occasionally caught in the act as DJ HUGO BALL, Carla is joining the transgender mafia by learning how to DJ, collecting 0-hour jobs contracts and fund-raising for her Harp Concerto / Animated Film “The Curious Adventure of Ms Basin”.
