Denver-based songwriter Carolyn Shulman knew from the time her father gave her a guitar and taught her some chords at nine years old that she wanted to play music for the rest of her life. Her sound is a nod to legendary women of Americana, such as Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Patty Griffin. She builds powerful emotional landscapes, layering poignant lyrics atop skillful guitar work. Her debut album Grenadine & Kerosene (2021) and her latest release Heart on a Wire (2024) both enjoyed critical acclaim and landed on the FAI Folk Radio Charts. Carolyn was a 2022 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriters Showcase finalist. She loves performing and quickly charms audiences with her sincerity, humor, and warmth.
