The Common Woman Chorus is a treble chorus in Durham, North Carolina made up of woman-identifying, gender-nonconforming, and transgender individuals. We are an LGBTQIA+ centered space and a place for queer joy. We are people always seeking and working toward justice. We believe in the power of our collective voices.
Founded in 1983 as a feminist chorus, for the past 40+ years we have strived to be a beacon for equity, justice, and belonging in the North Carolina Triangle area and beyond, particularly for the LGBTQIA+ community. Our mission is to cultivate connection and change through the healing power of music.
