Joseph Perkins BMus(Hons) M.A. is a London based jazz/session guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, lecturer and postgraduate from City University of London, with performance tuition from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has studied guitar with Scott Henderson, Mike Stern, Wayne Krantz and Karl Sanders. He is currently a visiting lecturer at City University of London. Joe has performed at Montreal Jazz Festival, BAFTA, Ronnie Scott’s (residency), Vortex, The Jazz Café (supporting Terence Blanchard), BBC Radio, JazzFM, House of Lords, and for members of the Royal Family. Session credits: Robohands, The X Factor winner, James Arthur, Bibi Bourelly, and playing the music of Django Reinhardt in Jessica Swale’s, Summerland. Joe is a widely experienced tutor and has previous experience in the state sector as a peripatetic and classroom teacher. He has worked with the ABRSM and Cecil Sharp House as a teacher/presenter.
