Papaya members Max Brownstein (bass guitar), Charley Cooper (drums, vocals), Joey Costa (guitar, vocals), and Mason Katz (guitar) are four pals who love live music and also each other. Papaya first linked up in November 2018, for a session they now call the “Turkey Jam.” Since that pivotal day, the members of Papaya have been busy writing original music, polishing different covers, and fine-tuning those sweet medleys. Papaya’s music covers an array of genres including jam, funk, rhythm and blues, rock n’ roll & soul. Papaya is heavily influenced by bands such as The Grateful Dead, Phish, The New Mastersounds, The Radiators, The New Orleans Suspects, Maze, and countless other musical legends. Papaya is currently based in the Big Apple: New York, NY.
