"Musical cultures merge – and it doesn't sound like a mere addition of voices and styles, but like an organic re-creation, in which Western and Middle Eastern musical cultures are masterfully fused into one – remarkably dense, rocking, and multilayered."
– Martin Vögele, Mannheimer Morgen, 28.11.2022
The band SADA plays modern jazz rock with Arabic influences.
SADA’s sound blends atmospheric guitar tones with progressive rock riffs, Arabic instruments, maqam-based melodies, as well as taksim and jazz improvisation.
SADA evolved from the Fityan Band, which was founded by Syrian nay virtuoso Mohamad Fityan in 2015, shortly after his arrival in Germany. In 2022, the original quartet expanded to an octet for a project phase. After recording their album at the legendary Bauer Studios in 2023, it became clear: a new band sound and a new musical language had emerged. From Fityan Band, SADA was born.
