1974 is a five-piece rock band from Newington, CT. Formed in the winter of 2007, 1974 began amalgamating the members' musical influences by composing songs with elements of classic and progressive rock, jazz, punk, ska, metal, and folk into a quirky collection of songs.
1974's live shows are energetic and raw. Having played to a wide variety of New England audiences, the band became flexible with their sets. The comradery and musical relationship the band shares becomes clear as they interact onstage and play off of each others improvisations. There is no doubt that 1974 exists to share their passion and grandiose vision for elaborate stories and infectious riffs through both their writing and their performance.
