The BackBeat is a family of 9 that creates music that not only is appealing to the ear, but also the body, booty, and soul. Hailing from Chicago, the band was formed from a group of high school friends that missed playing music together once they moved away to college. The group started in 2014, with a different name, playing funkified versions of jazz standards as well as staple tunes within the jazz fusion community. After a variety of musicians coming and going for various reasons, the group has found the guys that funk together and have a deep love for the emotions and out of body experiences music and groove can have on a person. The BackBeat is working on their first album, which will be released in 2021. The BackBeat is Bobby Lark (Trumpet, Flute), Christian Siki (Alto Sax), Sean Hux (Tenor Sax), Danny Tedeschi (Trombone), Juan Garcia (Percussion), Joe Perillo (Drums), Sam Tedeschi (Bass), Michal 'Meow' Witek (Guitar), and Ian Williams (Keyboards).
