Hayot Tuychiev is an Emmy-winning cinematographer with a background in documentary filmmaking and higher education. His recent projects have been supported by the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, Open Society Institute, UNICEF, University of Arkansas and others.
Hayot is a practiced expert in video editing, photography, and digital video. Starting his career out in the world of broadcast journalism, Hayot has always had a great interest in visual storytelling. Before his academic career, Hayot Tuychiev worked for international news organizations such as CNN, Associated Press and Reuters in Central Asia.
Hayot is a member of National Press Photographer's Association and since 2010, he teaches broadcast journalism at the School of Journalism and Strategic Media at the University of Arkansas.
Documentaries produced by Hayot Tuychiev were nominated for seven Mid-America Emmy awards; and his two projects, KURM Radio: The Soapbox of the Air and Temple of Peace, won Emmy awards in various
