The Futant Collective is an art community created to explore tomorrow's realities. Futant Futant (fyu’-tent) is an American electronic music outfit from Washington, DC known for its fusion of psychedelic trance, ambient, and industrial influences. Characterized by a "cyberpunk" aesthetic and complex layering of synthesizers, the project has released a prolific body of work since 2008. The Futant Collective The core of Futant consists of the duo F. Tyler (aka 00x) and Luxe Futura (aka Lux). The Futant Collective is the self-publishing label the two use to release most of their work. The band credits Dr. Timothy Leary as the source of the term "Futant" - a portmanteau of "Future" and "Mutant" used to describe those with "genetically activated thought patterns designed to facilitate the future.
