S.O.I. DUKA S.O.I. Duka born Jermarcus Hartsfield, Sr. on September 29 in Marlin, Texas. He is also known as Duke or “Duka Young” and he is from the dirt roads and potholes of South-end Marlin, TX. His original stage name, Duka, it stems from his childhood nickname "Duke", given by his father. He started writing lyrics at the age of 9, not much for belief in his music, his mother kept him in church. Even through the years of participating in church activities, Duka still couldn’t escape his passion to deliver music to the ears of the world. In a recent interview with DNA Films, Duka told us that he misses the days of kicking lines by the soda machines of Marlin High School (morning, lunch, and after school). Not much of an athlete throughout high school he continued to work towards perfecting his craft as an artist.
