The Two Five Ones are a jazz/blues duo consisting of Dara MacGabhann (vocals) and Andy Hogg (fingerstyle guitar and backing vocals). Since early adulthood both musicians have been heavily influenced and enthralled by the melodies and structures of jazz standards Recognizing their mutual respect and love for 'The American Song Book' classics, the duo have developed their own style which reflects the genre and provides a flair of the 1920s to 1960s musicals and music scene. Emulating the great jazz standard guitar and vocal duos such as Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass and Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra, The Two Five Ones performances offer a flavor of 'The Speakeasy', reflecting the cultural changes in American lifestyles. The duo also writes their own material, much of which mirrors the jazz /blues song structure, with swinging melodies, middle eights and haunting ballads.
