The Vallejo Choral Society was founded in 1917 as the Vallejo Municipal Chorus by Frederick G. Scheller, the first director. The group performed with the San Francisco Municipal Orchestra. In 1931, the ensemble was renamed Vallejo Choral Society by then director, Kenneth R. Dick, and today performs a versatile repertoire of music spanning from classical to musical theater.
