Inspired by the recognition of Irish contributions to global business & culture sectors, the Ireland America Science Forum aims to create & deepen science & technology linkages between Ireland & America. The IASF seeks to bring together people who would not have met otherwise in order to envision ideas & create innovations that they would not have done alone. To that end, the IASF sponsors unique gatherings focused on science relevant to Ireland & America. The IASF was initially created as the Wild Geese Network of Irish Scientists (WGNIS) that recognized the need to advance similar awareness of the Irish contribution in the sciences, and originally came together in February 2011 at a Washington DC breakfast hosted by Cathy O’Connor, then First Secretary ICT and Energy Policy, supported by then-Irish Amb. to the U.S., Michael Collins. In 2018, the organization regrouped & relaunched with a rejuvenated Board of Trustees & a mission for modern times as the Ireland America Science Forum.
