Liberally Armed is a project by Sam Vilain, and is focused on the liberal, pro–gun perspective. This will cover gun–related topics specifically geared towards a traditionally gun–shy audience. Liberals should be in favor of laws that do not restrict freedom. The basis of a Liberal Democratic society include the freedom of ideas and expression, the use of democratically elected leaders with term limits, the rule of law and independent courts, separation of powers and a non–unitary executive, powerful and effective but accountable public institutions and law enforcement. Just as we trust the public to make overall good democratic decisions, we should trust the people to be able to be responsible with weapons, without limitation or infringement. This is not just compatible with the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, it is essential.
