I’m John Wesley, a guitarist, songwriter, and professional musician with a career spanning decades. On this channel, I share insights from my musical journey: from the late ’70s club scene, playing six nights a week, chasing a record deal, to ’90s world tours, to now, as a “journeyman.” With seven solo studio albums, years as a sideman (performing with Vertical Horizon, Porcupine Tree, Big Elf, Fish, Mike Tramp of White Lion, Sister Hazel, Sound of Contact, and Steven Wilson), and experience as a studio owner/engineer, I’ve learned countless lessons. I’ve also recently co-founded the band Voyage 35 with Colin Edwin, embarking on a new creative chapter. As I continue to write, record, and perform, “YouTube University” has been a vital resource for my growth. Now, I’m contributing to that pool of knowledge by sharing my experiences. There are many paths to a music career, and I hope my insights help you navigate your own.
