Hi - my name is Parvez Alam and I've started this channel to share my passion for materials, biostructures and biomimetics research. I am currently tenured faculty at the School of Engineering, The University of Edinburgh, UK. My research focuses around bioinspired materials science and engineering. I have projects ongoing that cover every length scale from the atomic to the superstructure - and within both classical and emergent fields. I hope you enjoy this channel and I will endeavour to update it with new videos from time to time (when I have some spare time!). I have another channel for a street kids charity that I run (see channel: shantanou and FIGHTING FOR LIVES) in case anyone is interested - but this channel is dedicated to my passion for science.
