Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering, endearingly known as L.D.C.E is a premier engineering college situated at the heart of Ahmedabad spread across 64,565 sq. meter built-up area. It is surrounded by some of the most elite national institutions like ATIRA, IIM, ISRO, PRL, etc. The institute was established in 1948 with a donation of Rs. 25 lacs and 31.2 hectares of land by the textile magnate Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai, hence the college was named Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering. At present institute runs 14 undergraduate, 17-post graduate and 4 part-time programs. The institute is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University and administrated by Department of Technical education, Gujarat State. Apart from all the main stream engineering courses, it facilitates students with niche courses like engineering in textile, environment, rubber, plastic, bio-medical, etc.
