Harry Glasson (Harry Safari) was born in 1951 Leeadstown, Cornwall and was the eldest of 8 children. Merchant Navy, farming and running his Cornish history tour guiding business. In his 20’s he started writing poems and Cornish dialect verse, which quickly then progressed to putting the words he had written to music. Harry gigged around Cornwall for thirty plus years building up a legion of fans from all over the world and also toured the USA several times between 1998 and 2008. In July 2009 Harry was diagnosed with Cancer of the throat, which subsequently resulted in his vocal cords being removed in September 2009. Harry will occasionally will get up and play a few songs on his guitar and sing, with the aid of a hands- free valve. . Harry’s songs are sung throughout Cornwall by many Cornish choirs, shanty groups and other artists, the most popular song being “Cornwall my Home”.
