Videos of concerts, rehearsals, master classes and activities related to the Brazilian Music Workshops. The Brazilian Music Workshop (BMW) was presented in Brasília and Pirenópolis, two singular cities in the central part of the country, May 17 - 26, 2024. Brasília, the capital of Brazil, is a world-class city, energetic and vibrant. Pirenópolis is just the opposite! It is a small and cozy town, surrounded by hundreds of waterfalls, with buildings preserved from Brazil's colony period. BMW shared valuable knowledge about Brazilian music without overwhelming one with theory, chords, and scales. The focus was on experiencing, learning and playing the various rhythmical styles so identified with Brazilian music, such as: Bossa Nova, Samba, Baião, Partido-Alto, Frevo, Afoxé, Maracatu and more - with the beautiful melodies and interesting harmonies we all so enjoy. All while being with the people, culture, food, drink, sites, and the vibrant spirit of Brazil.
