He has been inspired to create unique songs, each with its own story line, and each with its own musical style - Country, Blues, Rock, Pop and Reggae. His early inspirations in Toronto came from Gordon Lightfoot, and his guitar skills were honed by Lightfoot’s side-men Red Shea and Terry Clements. He was also influenced by the late Ronnie Hawkins, his long standing friend (and patient) who was surrounded by the greats of music at each of his live performances. His friendship with John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has extended to over three decades, leading to many joint recording sessions and introductions to other great talents, including on the stage of the Grand Old Opry and the Ryman Theater in Nashville.
