The idea of creating a channel came up after an discussion about the 5th anniversary of Hiram Bullocks death. In 2004 and later in 2006 on the 'Leverkusender Jazztage' i had the chance to spend some time with Hiram and the WDR Big Band after Bernd Lechtenfeld, a friend of mine, startet the great Hendrix project. As an enthusiastic amateur about jazz and Big Band music I loved to be close by the development of the project and of cource to all the fantastic musicians. It was so shocking that short after the second gig in 2006 at Leverkusener Jazztage, in the beginning of 2008 Hiram developed cancer and died a few month later on 25th July. This was exactly 5 years ago and i dedicate these video tracks, i recorded myself at the legendary concert in the University of Cologne, to hiram, a legend himself. Hope you all have fun with this!
